AR Rahman visits Ajmer Sharif

Music maestro A R Rahman today offered his prayers at the dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti here.

The Oscar-winning composer offered floral tributes and sought blessings.

The presence of Rahman, 50, attracted a huge crowd at the dargah.

He stayed for a while in Gumbad Sharif near tomb of Chisti.

Rahman has visited the Ajmer dargah several times before.



Shah Rukh, Aamir click first picture together in 25 years

The two biggest Khans of Bollywood Aamir and Shah Rukh finally came together for the first picture in 25 years.

Shah Rukh, 51, who is mostly clicked hanging out with good friend Salman Khan, took to Twitter to share buddy selfie with the "Dangal" star.

"Known each other for 25 years and this is the first picture we have taken together of ourselves. Was a fun night," SRK captioned the photo.

In the picture both the actors are dressed in white and Aamir, 51, is seen sporting his "Thugs of Hindostan" look.

SRK and Aamir attended the 50th birthday bash of entrepreneur Ajay Bijli. The party was attended by several Bollywood celebrities including Karan Johar, who clicked the picture of the two Khans with Ajay.



Shahid Kapoor shares first picture of daughter Misha

Shahid Kapoor made sure to keep his daughter Misha away from the limelight since her birth, but the actor today shared the first picture of his little bundle of joy.

The 35-year-old star, took to social media to share the photo of the little one with wife Mira.

"Hello world," Shahid captioned the grayscale picture which has Mira cuddling to Misha.

The actor, who will be turning a year older on February 25, had yesterday said that he will be sharing the first photo of his daughter soon.

Shahid and Mira tied the knot in July 2015. The couple welcomed their first child together on August 28, 2016.

On the work front, the actor is gearing up for the release "Rangoon," his third collaboration with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj. The movie also starring Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan will hit theatres on February 24.



This has deeply affected me: Priyanka on Trump immigration ban

After Hollywood A-listers Jennifer Lawrence, Ashton Kutcher, John Legend and among others slammed President Donald Trump's temporary immigration ban, actress Priyanka Chopra has spoken out against it saying, "this has deeply affected me."

Trump signed the executive order on last Friday to suspend entry of refugees to the US for 120 days, and imposed an indefinite ban on refugees from Syria. A 90-day ban was also placed on citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries, including Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

In an emotional LinkedIn blog post, the 34-year-old star and UNICEF Goodwill ambassador, wrote, "As a global citizen, this has deeply affected me. All of the 'banned' countries are places where a lot of UNICEF work is going on, where children are suffering the most."


Manveer Gurjar wins 'Bigg Boss' Season 10

Noida boy Manveer Gurjar was on Sunday announced the victor of reality show "Bigg Boss" Season 10.

"Being a commoner, I did not expect to win the show as the house was full of celebs and influential people. However, my strategy was not to get afraid or influenced by them but to build up my image. So today if the audience voted me and made me a winner, it is because of my honesty and the real face that I projected in the show," Manveer told IANS just after winning the show.

The star-studded evening started on a high dose of entertainment with the performance of Salman Khan who danced on two of his popular songs, "Mera Hi Jalwa" and "Aaj Ki Party" alongside evicted contestants Gaurav Chopraa, Rohan Mehra, Monalisa, Nitibha Kaul, Lokesh Kumari and Navin Prakash not only on-stage, but also inside the Bigg Boss house.

This followed the performance of another Bollywood star and dance God Hrithik Roshan who shared stage with his "Kaabil" co-star Yami Gautam.


Salman Khan and other stars pleaded 'not guilty' in blackbuck poaching case

Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his 'Hum Saath-Saath Hain' co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Neelam Kothari, Sonali Bendre and Tabu, pleaded 'not guilty' in an 18-year-old blackbuck poaching case in a Jodhpur court on Friday.
The actors were present in the court to get their statements recorded before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit.
The CJM court had earlier asked the Bollywood celebrities to appear on January 25 to record statement, but the stars, including Salman and Saif, did not come on that day citing security reasons. The court then postponed the matter for Friday.
The case against all cine stars is pending since 1998, but it could not come for hearing and remained stalled due to several appeals and revisions in the higher court in other connected matters. During the course of hearing on Friday, Salman replied to as many as 65 questions posed by the court in regard to the allegations leveled by the prosecution witnesses.


Salman Khan exempted from personal appearance in poaching case

A court here today exempted Salman Khan and other co-accused from personal appearance in the alleged blackbuck poaching case and posted the matter to January 27.

Chief Judicial Magistrate (District) Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit had summoned Salman and four others co-accused Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam, and Sonali Bendre for today for recording of their statements in a case filed against them for alleged poaching of two blakcbucks at Kankani village in 1998.

"We moved a joint application on behalf of all accused seeking exemption from appearance in the court for today and the court allowed it", said Defence Counsel K K Vyas.

The court has now listed the matter for January 27.

He said police had expressed inability to provide adequate security to the film stars in the court on account of the presence of the chief minister and the governor in the city for the state-level Republic Day celebrations.



When Salman Khan met Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan was in the city to promote his upcoming action-adventure film "Kung Fu Yoga" and the action star met Bollywood superstar Salman Khan during his visit.

The 51-year-old actor took to social media to share a picture with Chan in which they can be seen holding two stuffed panda toys with a tag "UNICEF: For every child."

The 62-year-old martial art expert, who is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, had arrived in India on January 23 for the promotion of the Stanley Tong-directed film.

Earlier, Salman had tweeted the official trailer of the film where he thanked Chan for providing an opportunity to his "Dabangg" co-star, Sonu Sood.

"Thank you @EyeOfJackieChan for giving this film to my Chedi Singh @SonuSood. This is the coolest," wrote the actor.

The movie, starring Disha Patni and Amyra Dastur, alongside Jackie and Sonu, is slated to release on February 3 in India.



Salman Khan thanks fans after acquittal in Arms Act case

Superstar Salman Khan thanked fans for their good wishes and prayers after he was today acquitted by Jodhpur court in an Arms Act case related to the alleged poaching of two blackbucks 18 years ago.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpuroti acquitted 51-year-old star, who along with his sister Alvira was present in the court.

Besides the cases of poaching of endangered antelopes under Wildlife (Protection) Act, a case under sections 3/25 and 3/27 of the Arms Act was filed against Khan for allegedly keeping and using the fire arms with expired licence in the alleged poaching of blackbucks in Kankani near Jodhpur on October 1-2, 1998.

Taking to Twitter, the star expressed his gratitude to fans for showing their immense support throughout his trial.

"Thank you for all the support and good wishes," the actor wrote.


Don't have any interest in going to Hollywood: Aamir Khan

Superstar Aamir Khan says he has no interest in working in Hollywood but is open to do international projects if something interesting comes up his way.

"I don't have any interest in going to the US and working there. I am totally interested in working for Indian films. I have a relationship with the audience here for last 25-26 years and I cherish and give a lot of value to it," Aamir said in an interview here when asked if he has any plans to work in the Hollywood in the future.

"But that doesn't mean it is a bad idea to entertain the world audience. I just don't have that interest. It's not my career graph that I will try and work for doing international films," he said.

The 51-year-old actor, however, said he is open to work in global film projects if something interesting is offered to him.

The actor's counsel H M Saraswat had earlier said, "We had argued in the court that there was no evidence that Khan was carrying fire arms either during his stay here or during alleged poaching. What he was found in possession with, were actually air guns."


Atif Aslam rescues girl from harassers during concert

Pakistani singer Atif Aslam brought his concert here to a halt to rescue a female fan, who was being harassed by some guys during the show.

The incident happened on Saturday when the 33-year-old "Pehli Nazar Mein" hitmaker had taken to the stage to belt out his hit numbers for the crowd.

However, midway during his performance, Atif motioned his hand and asked the musicians to stop playing when he noticed a group of men bothering a girl in the front row.

He went up to them and sternly asked the boys not to harass the girl.

"Haven't you seen a girl? Atif is seen asking the gang angrily in a video posted on Youtube by concert goers.

"Your mother or sister could be here as well," he added.

After issuing a warning to the rowdy boys, the singer pulled up the girl on the stage and asked concert organisers to get her a place somewhere else.


Aamir, Alia, 'Dangal' bag top honours at Filmfare Awards

Superstar Aamir Khan bagged the best actor honour, while his movie "Dangal" was adjudged as the best film at the 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards.

The best director award went to Nitesh Tiwari for "Dangal", which is based on the life of Haryana wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters.

The awards, held last night, was hosted by Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan and Kapil Sharma.

The best actress title was won by Alia Bhatt for her performance in "Udta Punjab" while Sonam Kapoor bagged the critics choice award for "Neerja".

The Ram Madhvani-directed biopic also bagged the critics award for best film.

The best actor, critics choice, was shared by Shahid Kapoor for his role as a drug addict rockstar in "Udta Punjab" and Manoj Bajpayee for "Aligarh".

Rishi Kapoor bagged the best actor in a supporting role for "Kapoor & Sons". Shababa Azmi was honoured for "Neerja" in the female category of the award.


Priyanka Chopra hospitalised after accident on 'Quantico' set

Indian actress Priyanka Chopra was involved in a minor accident on the set of her TV drama "Quantico" and taken to the hospital here.

The 34-year-old actress has since been released by the doctor, and is now "resting comfortably" at home, a representative from the production team of ABC confirmed to Entertainment Tonight.

According to TMZ, the actress slipped and fell on her head while performing a stunt during the filming of the show on Thursday. She suffered a concussion.

Priyanka was immediately rushed to hospital. The "Baywatch" actress was examined and treated at the emergency room before she got discharged a few hours later. She is now resting at home.

"I can confirm there was a minor incident last night on set. Priyanka was immediately taken to the hospital, examined by a doctor and released. (She) is resting comfortably at home on doctors orders, and will return to work after the weekend," a representative for the actress said.


Soha shares picture of Saif with baby Taimur's sketch

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan posted a photograph of brother Saif Ali Khan with newborn nephew Taimur on Instagram.

The 38-year-old actress captioned the photo, "Thank you @literatefool for this striking sketch of baby Taimur. It is beautifully made."

In the picture one can see Saif in a white kurta holding his sleeping newborn son's portrait.

Taimur was born to Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan on December 20, 2016.

Kareena delivered her first child with the 46-year-old at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital.
